On Display In Gig Harbor

Yellow and Black, whoever would have thought that a decision on a logo would engender so much interest in a new business.

I've been open for almost three months now, yep, that's my big yellow banner on Pioneer Way with Abigail's Concierge Services emblazoned on it.

It's an amazing location mostly because of the parade of residents and day trippers who stroll by and, often times wander into my office.

If you haven't seen my office you may be wondering why anyone who wasn't specifically coming to see me would mosey in. Well I'll tell you. When I was knee deep in compiling my business plan for my Home Watch and Concierge business I consistently found that more often than not day to day decisions are made by women. And I just couldn't stand the idea of a plain, industrial logo or brand in blue and gray. As a female consumer I don't gravitate to those colors and I knew that most women don't. So, voila! Yellow and white stripes and a unique logo, with lots of pizazz and style, was born. To go along with the logo the office followed that theme and became a small oasis of yellow, silver and black with chippy chic furnishings and instead of a desk my laptop sits on a large farm table.

Especially during nice weather I have two to three random visitors who come in and want to know what we do.  And some just wander in and look like they're ready to shop as I sit amused while they look around and then realize that nothing is for sale. Though that hasn't stopped the very determined from making offers on the contents of the office. I had two ladies come in after the concert in the park who good naturedly bickered with each other as to who was going to score the white octogen table if I should ever decide to sell it.

Residents who frequently come to town and have seen the transformation often stop to chat and reminisce about all of the incarnations of the space. A florist shop, shoe repair, photo shop just to name a few. The most common response upon learning what we do is "What a great idea. Gig Harbor really needs this type of service." I've been amazed at how overwhelmingly warm and helpful the residents of Gig Harbor have been. I don't think I've ever had such a great reception, even at my own birthday party. So the next time you're in town and you see me typing away don't be shy, pop in and say hi! Although we're not a boutique we certainly have a lot to offer Gig Harbor.
