Are You Doing the Puyallup This Year?

We're looking for members from Gig Harbor and the area to feature in fair stories.

The Puyallup Fair runs Sept. 9-25, and Patch is looking for Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula residents participating at the fair, or anyone who plans on going to talk about the experience. You know: The food, the rides, the fun.

Are you a 4-H kid entering your prized rabbit? Are you a quilter showing your handiwork? Are you riding in the rodeo or entering your homemade brew for the chance of a ribbon?

Or maybe your goal is to ride every thrill ride at the fair after eating three bags of cotton candy (if you are, please let us know, so we can be there with a camera)? Or do you know of great places to park at the event?

Speaking of food, we understand that the fair, in the past, has had some, oh, deep-fried specialities. As in: Pickles, Twinkies, cookie dough, Oreos and butter. As in, to be more precise: Deep-fried pickles, Twinkies, cookie dough, Oreos and butter.

There will be non deep-fried food, too. Overall, the fair offers family fun before the winter shows up.
