If you’re headed to the grand opening of this Saturday, you may face some heavy traffic on the way.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, part of the new Eastbound Nalley Valley project is currently demolishing the northbound I-5 exit to the Tacoma City Center (Exit 133) and rebuilding a new exit.
Drivers traveling from the south should take Exit 132 instead of Exit 133 for Tacoma City Center.
Once on Exit 132, drivers headed to downtown will stay in the right lane, bypass the State Route 16 on-ramp and 38th Street and merge onto the northbound collector/distributor lane to I-705 and downtown Tacoma.
Take a right on 26th Street and follow signs for parking.
According to The News Tribune, some surface streets just north of the museum will be closed as part of the Sounder commuter rail line project.
The museum’s grand opening ceremony starts at 10 a.m., followed by public admission at 11 a.m.
