Boy Scouts of America Troop 282 Veterans Day Ceremony

Boy Scouts of America Troop 282 of Gig Harbor will be holding its annual Veteran's Day and flag retirement ceremony. The public is invited to attend. Check out photos from last year's event.

Artondale Cemetery Veterans Day Commemoration

The Artondale Cemetery Association will be hosting a commemoration of all veterans at the Artondale Cemetery. The public is encouraged to attend.

The Gig Harbor American Legion Post 236, the Gig Harbor Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1854 and the Peninsula Veterans Honor and Color Guard will provide a ceremony including a three volley rifle salute and the playing of Taps as a tribute to our veterans, followed by a flag ceremony by the St. Nicholas Knights of Columbus Council 9238, assisted by Boy Scout flag bearers.

Artondale Cemetery has more than 65 veterans buried at the cemetery and the Knights of Columbus will have placed American flags at each gravesite. For more information, visit the Artondale Cemetery Association's website.

Veterans Day Deals:

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is offering free admission to all individuals who are currently serving or have honorably served in the U.S. military on on Sunday, Nov. 11. Just bring your active military/veteran identification card, discharge papers, DD214s, or any other proof of honorable US military service with you to the Zoo.

Brown Bear Car Wash is offering free “Bear Essential” tunnel washes to current or former members of the military on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11.

U.S. National Park ServiceAll national parks, forests and monuments offer free addmission to all on Veterans Day. Go and Enjoy the scenery!
