CHEW Pet Rescue, Gig Harbor's non-profit dog rescue organization, posted the Gig Harbor Patch Facebook page on Monday:
This is Owen. He was supposed to go to his forever home this week. Instead, this sweet little dog had to undergo emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction. It has already cost us over $4,000 and we expect the final cost to be near $5,000. This is almost wiping us out financially.
Please help support your local dog rescue!!! We really need your support... any amount adds up so please send us what you can to help pay his medical bills.
We also need a volunteer to help us write grants so when high medical expenses like this come up, we don't have to break the rescue bank. Please help.
