The Harbor History Museum on the Gig Harbor waterfront has assembled a unique assortment of holiday gifts including hard-to-find toys that are inspired by vintage lookalikes. "Children are so overstimulated by electronic everything - it is wonderful to see quality play items that involve imagination and hands-on activity," says Cheri Johnson, museum board member and gift shop buyer. Included in the selection are retro tops, wooden boats, puzzles and a variety of hands-on books and activity kits. The gift store, located inside the museum offers free admission to all. Proceeds from the shop benefit programs at the museum, a non-profit organization.
For adults, the shop offers local artisan created jewelry, glass giftware, books, beeswax candles, logo wear and for sail enthusiasts, Tippiecanoe sailboats, collectible wooden sailboat kits that are designed to sail.
