  • Why Go: Come on down to Skansie Brothers Park this Saturday for 'Resolution Run For the Heros,' an annual run benefitting the Behind The Badge Foundation, a foundation for the families of fallen officers.

  • Why Go: In keeping with their Gaelic tradition, James Keigher and Donnie Macdonald blend their voices with harmony and support their varied selection of instruments. Their show presents a unique combination of humor, exciting tunes, and soulful, heartfelt ballads.

Children's Museum Grand Opening

  • Where/When: 9 a.m - 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Children's Museum of Tacoma.
  • Why Go: Join the Children's Museum this Saturday for the grand opening of the new Children's Museum of Tacoma. Explore the all new playscapes and unleash your imagination while you make forts, play in the water, create art, and soar to the moon!
  • Cost: Admission to the Tacoma Children's Museum is always 'pay what you can.'

 

  • Where/When: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at in Gig Harbor.
  • Why Go: In need of a good deed to round out your weekend? Try donating blood this Saturday at the Safeway Blood Drive in Gig Harbor. Your donation will help support local hospitals as well as the local community.
  • Pricing: Free.

 

Proctor Winter Farmers Market

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Proctor Farmers Market in Tacoma.
  • Why Go: This is the First winter market of the season. Come and browse the wide array of vendors offering fresh meats, fruits, vegetables and more.
