Gig Harbor BoatShop Offering Free Sails on ‘Pirouette’

The public is invited to sail around the harbor and learn more about the historic boat. Gig Harbor BoatShop recently restored the Pirouette in May.

The Gig Harbor BoatShop is treating the community to a free ride on the historic Thunderbird sailboat ‘Pirouette’.

Starting this Saturday, Oct. 6, the public is invited to sail on Gig Harbor Bay.

In May, the BoatShop celebrated the re-launch of the restored Thunderbird sailboat hull #2 at the Eddon Boatyard.

During the hour-long trip, the Gig Harbor BoatShop T-Bird skipper will talk about sailing, Thunderbird lore and the Gig Harbor BoatShop at the Eddon Boatyard.
The BoatShop can only take 3 people per trip. Reservations are required. Dress for the weather, keeping in mind that it is always cooler on the water.

Make sure to wear soft-soled shoes. Life jackets are required to be worn and are provided.

Arrive at the Eddon Boatyard dock at or before the scheduled time. No alcoholic beverages allowed on board.

The program is offered through Nov. 4.
