Every year, as many as 150 artists and craftspeople are selected to show and sell their work at the festival, which draws thousands of shoppers to downtown Gig Harbor.

“Our screening process assures that only the best artists are selected for the festival. And we know that many visitors schedule their vacations specifically to come to the festival,” said Myrna Binion, chair of the festival committee.

In 2012, the festival was voted “Best Festival” in the region by readers of SouthSound Magazine.

In addition to juried arts and crafts, the event also features food and music by local musicians and special art-making activities for children. There is also a weekend-long display of artwork by PAL members at the nearby KeyBank branch.

On the Saturday of festival weekend, the Gig Harbor Historic Waterfront Association will hold its annual Chalk the Harbor activities with free chalk provided to budding artists of all ages who want to show off their creative skills on the sidewalks along the waterfront.
