Grab and Go Kid's Planner: June 14th

School may soon be out for the summer, but Patch has you covered with fun activities for your kids.

Rally up the family and head out the door! Patch has included some goodness indoors and outdoors. Whether you want to get moving and shaking, escape the heat or just relax away from home, we've found something for you.

 

When/Where: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday at .

Why Go: As school winds down for the year, hit the book sale with your kids in search of the perfect summer reading. Proceeds from the event will go to Friends of the Key Center Library. The group supports library users, including children and adults, and furnishings for the library.

Price: Free.

 

When/Where: 9 a.m. - Noon, Monday at .

Why Go: The camp offers building skills and keeps your kiddos active with challenging activities including kicking, running, jumping and throwing.

Price: $99 (Kids 4/5 years old)

 

Tacoma ArtWalk ArtBus

When/Where: 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Thursday beginning at the Tacoma Art Museum at 6 p.m.

Why Go: Tacoma's Third Thursday ArtWalk  equates to many gallery receptions and special themes that feature some of the most talented local talents. ArtWalk isn't so much a "walk" if you really want to soak it in...it's a park, walk, drive, park, walk, well you catch my meaning. The magnificent folks who have coordinated the ArtBus and their stops ensure more sights without the hassle.

Price: $10 per seat.

 

Tiptoe Through Tidepools

When/Where: Noon - 3 p.m. on Saturday at Titlow Beach in Tacoma.

Why Go: Take your family to our beautiful waterfront to explore wildlife during the lowest tides of the year. Enjoy checking out the sea creatures up close and personal and learn a little something from the guides!

Price: Free.

 

Splish Splash at the Spray Grounds

When/Where: 10 a.m. - 1/2 hour before dusk daily at several surrounding parks.

Why Go: What's better as a kid than running through the sprinkler in the backyard? Running through a mecca of sprinklers in the form of not a playground, but a SPRAYground! It's a perfect relief for those hot summer days.

Price: Free.

 

When/Where: Check listings for showtimes.

Why Go: The simple fact of the matter is that summer box-office caters  to movie goers of all ages. Some of the current flicks include Judy Moody, Kung Fu Panda, The Green Lantern, X-Men: First Class, Super 8, Thor and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. There is a little something for everyone in the theater.

Price: Prices will vary due to showtimes and ages.
