This weekend may just prove to be summer fun overload.
Yippee! Summer has arrived. Await the summer heat with a morning movie; Welcome baby snow leopards to the local animal kingdom; And enjoy local music, food and art at two different festivals!
When/Where: 10 a.m. Weekly on Wednesdays at Uptown Galaxy Theater.
Why Go: $2 movies with family friendly titles? Yes! And all the proceeds go to benefit Jaycox Gig Harbor Police Benevolent Fund. If you miss this week's kick-off with "Shark Tale," catch next week's showing of "The Muppet Movie".

When/Where: Noon - 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Thea Foss Waterway.
Why Go: Local music acts will inspire you to shake it and dance. Kid's crafts and art vendors may inspire your little artist as well as a specified kid's and teen area. It's a day worth of summer and art celebration with the community indeed.
Price: Free.
Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium
When/Where: 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Daily at the Point Defiance Zoo.
Why Go: Along with all of the other neat animal attractions at the Point Defiance Zoo, this Saturday the new baby snow leopard cubs will be introduced to the public! The first cub feeding starts at 9 a.m., then noon, 3 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. daily.
Price: $5.75 - $13.75 per guest.
When/Where: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday at Point Defiance Park.
Why Go: The event will be offering food from all around the Pacific Northwest with vendors of all sorts. The festival also includes rides, games and musical acts. To top it off, it'll just be a zip away from the zoo and Owens Beach.
