Happy Birthday! Issaquah Resident Celebrates 100th

Marjorie Packard Ball, who lived in Bellevue before moving to an adult family home in Issaquah becomes a centenarian today, Monday, Nov. 12.

Happy 100th Birthday to Marjorie Ball.

Marjorie Packard Ball was born 100 years ago, on Nov. 12, 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Today she lives at Corina's Issaquah Adult Family Home, and her daughter-in-law, Joy Ball of Sammamish, says Marjorie Ball still has a lot of spunk.

Marjorie Ball graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Home Economics before moving to Bellevue with her husband, William Ball, a long-time Boeing employee, where the couple raised their two sons, Mike and Jim.

Marjorie taught gardening classes in Bellevue, enjoyed cooking, and was active in social pursuits such as bridge.

Her secret to living a long life (or one of them anyway)? Joy Ball said her mother-in-law used to weigh herself each and every day, taking corrective action if she was five pound over or under her high school weight, and has always been a healthy eater.

Mike and Joy Ball currently live in Sammamish, and Jim and Erin Ball live in Maple Valley, with Marjorie's two grandsons, Taylor and Hayden.

Family and friends plan to celebrate the milestone birthday this evening at Corina's.
