Labor Day: What's Closed, What's Open

Labor Day is Monday Sept. 5; here is a list of what’s open and what's closed.

Labor Day is Monday, and the three-day weekend means plenty of places will be closed.

It also means there will be ceremonies and celebrations throughout the community.

Here is a list of things you need to know:

Closures

  • Government offices, including all federal, state, Pierce County and the .
  • Schools, including  and Tacoma Community College.
  • U.S. Post Office will be closed, but FedEx and UPS will be open.
  • Pierce County Library System, including the locations inand .

Open

  • Garbage and Recycling: Normal pick up schedule. (office closed.)
  • Pierce TransitWill run on Sunday schedule. (Offices closed.)
  • : 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Women Wellness Center at Pt. Fosdick will be closed.)
  • Most stores and restaurants will be open as normal.
  • State liquor stores: Most will be open, including .
