Great day for a parade. I watched from the corner of Harborview and North Harborview Drives, where people — and pets — were out in force to cheer the parade participants as they passed by. It's the kind of festive day where you should expect to see the unexpected. As the last float passed by and the crowd disbanded, I caught sight of Mike Sanders and son, Colton, out walking their pet goats, Daisy and Grazy. They were headed into town and Sanders thought it might take awhile. The goats tended to stop frequently to snack on the surrounding vegetation.

The Maritime Gig is a great community parade. Definitely the kind of event that doesn't happen in most cities.
