Patch User Thanks Gig Harbor Community For Making Whales Safe

The user says a group of whales who allegedly had been harassed by boaters while swimming in the Narrows are doing well.

In July, a Gig Harbor Patch user from Fox Island claimed a small boat had repeatedly run over a group of whales in the Narrows, injuring one of them.

The user, who spoke to Patch on condition of anonymity, e-mailed Patch with an update today:

I thank you for posting my note about the grey whales around Fox Island.  It has taken time, but the injured whale is now moving well and is as lively as the other two. Boaters have been slowing down when the see them, some even stop. They are circling the area and look very well.  Thsnk you for raising awareness for their safety
