Photo of the Day: Cookies from Gig Harbor Arrive in Afghanistan

Joint Base Lewis-McChord's 502d Military Intelligence Battalion in Afghanistan recently got a special delivery of cookies from Gig Harbor.

The 502d Military Intelligence Battalion posted this photo on its Facebook page on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

They also wrote:

"Thank you Gig Harbor for thinking of us and sending these wonderful cookies!"

Spearheaded by Gig Harbor Mayor Chuck Hunter’s wife Dianne, the City of Gig Harbor collected cookies for its third annual Cookies for Soldiers program.

The cookies were donated by community members last month and were shipped to Afghanistan to benefit the military personnel.
