Photo of the Day: Friendly Note at Uptown Parking Lot

Patch reader Joyce M. sent us this photo from her recent trip to Uptown Gig Harbor.

Our cars may fall victim to dents and scratches on any given day, but it's pretty rare that you get an apology note from the other driver.

Patch reader Joyce M. sent us the following message and the photo:

I recently overlapped a parking space at Uptown. Someone put a very courteous note on my car, stating that if there were any scratches on the passenger side, they were sorry, but it was very difficul to back out, due to the fact I parked so close [to] them. Because the note stated my error so was so graciously, I won't let that happen again.

A reader on our Facebook page suggest an underlying passive aggressiveness in the note. What do you think?

Perhaps a cellphone photo posted on the Patch would provide inspiration...?

She could've said and done nothing. Seek a positive message, not negative. Parking too close was the problem and she simply stated the fact. I once had my car door blown from my hand in a big wind storm, only to dent the new BMW next to me. My honesty in leaving my contact info cost me $800 but I can rest comfortably that I did the right thing. The BMW owner? Never even thanked me. Oh well.
