Warming Shelter Available at Key Peninsula Lutheran

Pierce County has designated Key Peninsula Lutheran as a warming center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Due to the continued power outages and cold weather throughout Pierce County, the following shelters are open and available to anyone seeking a warm place to stay. 

Warming centers and overnight shelters:

  • Key Peninsula Lutheran: 4213 Lackey Rd., Lakebay

        - Day center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; on stand-by for overnight Saturday

When going to an overnight shelter, please bring the following:

  • Toiletries (toothpaste, personal hygiene items, and medications)
  • Blankets, sleeping bags, and pillows
  • Extra clothing, towels, and washcloths
  • Comfort items for children (stuffed animal, toys, games, books, and blanket)

Additional shelters are on standby if needed. Call the Pierce County Emergency Operations Center for additional information at 253-798-7470.
