Arbor Day Celebration

Gig Harbor's 11th annual "Arbor Day Celebration" will take place Saturday, April 16th at the Civic Center on Grandview St. from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Free Hemlock and Sitka Spruce trees are being given to all who attend. An arborist will be there to answer your tree questions. Mayor Hunter will kick off the ceremonies which will include the annual "Good Stewardship" award presented to Lynda Lowe, artist and lifelong tree preservation advocate. Β The Harbor Heights Elementary School Orca Singers will perform. Winners of the Arbor Day student contests will receive recognition and their prizes. Children's arts and crafts, environmental booths, raffle drawings, refreshments and a tree planting will round out the afternoon.
