Celebrate Key Center Pierce County Library’s 30th Birthday

Everyone is invited to Key Center Pierce County Library’s 30th birthday party! Join in the celebration and free events at, 8905 KPN, on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. 

It will be a Swinging Birthday Party to commemorate when the library opened its doors at the same location at 8905 KPN 30 years ago. 

Residents may celebrate this milestone and enjoy birthday cake. Northwest musician Dean Paul Ratzman will perform swing, rock, soul and jazz music on piano, trumpet, trombone and vocals.

Pierce County Library System began providing library services for the area in 1946 at the Vaughan Library. The library changed its name to Key Peninsula Library in 1957 when it moved to the civic center.

In 1981, the library opened in a 4,066 square feet library-owned building and became Key Center Pierce County Library. Friends of the Key Center Library is the sponsor for the event.
