Folk-Rocker Peter Case LIVE at Morso

Legendary folk-rocker Peter Case is playing at Morso Friday July 15, 2011 at 8 pm.  Case's bands The Nerves and The Plimsouls helped define the LA punk and alternative rock scenes in the 70s and 80s, and his solo work helped usher in the Americana music phenomenon. Peter will perform acoustically as part of the Americana Music Series produced by Michael ONeill and Morso.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Morso 9014 Peacock Hill Ave, Gig Harbor WA 98332 or by calling Morso at 530-3463.

Peter just released “The Case Files”  which contains a collection of demos, out-takes and other rarities from the 1985-2010 span of his solo career. Compiled by Peter himself, this collection combines rockin’ full band electric tracks with a selection of dynamic acoustic performances, and also features collaborations with many of Peter's talented friends, such as Stan Ridgway, Eddie Muñoz, T-Bone Burnett, Ron Franklin and Tony Marsico, among others.

Peter is an acclaimed artist. In 2001, he organized, produced, and performed on Avalon Blues, a tribute album to blues music pioneer Mississippi John Hurt, which was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album. Peter released his first solo album on Geffen Eecords in 1986.  One of the songs on the album, "Old Blue Car", was nominated for a Grammy award.  In 1992, Case scored a radio hit with the song "Dream About You", which hit #16 on the U.S. Billboard Modern Rock charts.

Not limiting his outlet to music, Peter wrote a memoir entitled As Far As You Can Get Without a Passport in January 2007 with Everthemore books. The memoir covers Case’s very early days from the time he left his native upstate New York and wound up singing and playing on the streets of San Francisco.
