Meet Two Local Authors at Gig Harbor Library

Two local authors will speak and sign books during a free event at Gig Harbor Pierce County Library, 4424 Point Fosdick Drive N.W., on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m.

Dick Dixon will read from “Dillon's War: The Weretiger of Kontum," a novel inspired by his service among the Montagnard tribes of Vietnam’s central highlands, and by his occasional encounters with that extraordinary beast, the Indo-Chinese tiger. Dixon served 23 years in the U.S. Army Infantry before retiring as a lieutenant colonel to write full time.

Karen Lovett – poet, songwriter and staff writer for Key Peninsula News – will read from her first novel, "Beneath the Surface," a romantic suspense story set in on the west side of Puget Sound in the shadow of the Olympic Mountains.

Lovett hunts mushrooms in the forests near the farm she maintains, and participates in two writers’ groups on the Key Peninsula.   Books will be available for purchase and signing. Friends of the Gig Harbor Library sponsor this free event.
