Museum Tour with Tea and Cookies

Museum docent Ed Berntsen will be leading the museum tour on Feb. 17 – titled “How do you get to Tacoma?” The Berntsens were early settlers in Cromwell – long before a bridge connected the peninsula to Tacoma, or ferries carried cars over the waterway. Ed will talk about life on the peninsula before 1925 and the importance of the steamboats to the early residents. Besides providing transportation to the residents, steamers were an important part of the Berntsen history, as several of Ed’s relations were involved in the steamboat business. After the tour, we'll be enjoying tea and cookies in the Resource Room.
