Dr. Christian Cohen, Past President of Gig Harbor's Chamber of Commerce, has wanted for a long time to support Peninsula Art League Artists. He has decided to create a new Solo Gallery Art Space entitled "The Art Space @ Backbone" which will feature a new artist each month with a Solo Show. He will be hosting an Opening Reception the 1st Saturday, Art Walk, of each month from 4-7 pm.

Donna Carver, a Buenaventura Art Association Lifetime memeber, a Fine Art Pintmaker and member of the "Inkspots of San Buenaventura", a Peninsula Art League (PAL) member and Gig Harbor Artist is curator and will be the first PAL juried art member to be having a solo show at this location.

This new Solo Show "Art Space Gallery @ Backbone’s" purpose is to give exposure to accomplished PAL artists who are not presently exhibiting in local Art Co-ops in Gig Harbor.

A Solo Show gives an artist an opportunity to exhibit a "Body of Work". And an opportunity for the public to experience on artist's point of view and creations, not just one or two pieces of their art.   Donna has curated the show for the next 12 months. The artists chosen include:

  • Kashia Hill
  • Arvid Anderson
  • Mary McInnis
  • Anne Knapp
  • Pat Meras
  • Lynda Lindner
  • Kathy OBrien-Rywacki
  • Myrna Binion
  • Darlene Dihel
  • Marti Green
  • Susan Paredes

The artists who were chosen represent diverse mediums and subject matter ranging from Fine Art Printmakers to oil, pastel, acrylic painters and photography.

It is the hope that "the Art Space Solo Gallery" Receptions will become a monthly evening out for art appreciators, art lovers, and collectors alike to view and enjoy a new artist and their body of work.

No problem. Welcome Brent. By the way, I'm a graphic artist, have any need for ad design?
