  • Why Go: Join the at Skansie Brothers Park in Historic downtown Gig Harbor for the annual Tree Lighting. Santa will arrive by fire truck. Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate and the sounds of live music performed by Rokkerboxx.

  • Why Go: Help support Harbor Heights Elementary by picking up some unique holiday gifts from student and vendor booths at the annual Harbor Heights Holiday Bazaar. Enjoy pizza, baked goodies and listen to entertainment while you shop.

  • Why Go: Join Master Gardener Fred Shelton as he leads a discussion on the distribution, diversity, care and selection of orchids.

  • Where/When: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 in Gig Harbor's Waterfront District.
  • Why Go: Lace up those walking shoes and get ready to enjoy some art. All you have to do is follow the Red Shoe banners. Be sure to stop by any of the participating galleries and pick up your Art Walk Passport to enter a monthly drawing to win a $50 gift certificate from alternating galleries.

  • Where/When: 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the .
  • Why Go: Surayia Rahman, a self-taught Bangladeshi artist shared her skills with hundreds of destitute young women, stirring social change, empowering lives and helping to keep cultural traditions alive. Filmmaker Cathy Stevulak of Kantha Productions will talk about this remarkable woman, the forms of textiles of Bangladeshi, and the connection to art and culture. The Museum will be showing a clip from the film Threads and will have samples of the textiles on display.
