It's that time of the year again to gear up for flu season. announced it will be launching a seasonal flu vaccination program in September.
Its Gig Harbor store will be offering in-store flu shots by appointment or a walk-in basis on Sept. 13 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The spokesperson for the Seattle-based drugstore chain said every person who receives an in-store flu vaccination will get a Bartell's coupon book with more than $140 in store-wide savings.
Pharmacists can immunize anyone 14 years of age or older (ages 14 through 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against this serious disease.
Bartell's is also offering Fluzone(r) High-Dose, an influenza vaccine designed specifically for people 65 years and older. Fluzone(r) High-Dose vaccines contain 4 times the amount of antigen (the part of the vaccine that prompts the body to make antibody) contained in regular flu shots.
For area businesses with 25 or more employees, Bartell Drugs is launching its corporate seasonal flu vaccination program-offering "in-the-workplace" flu shot clinics.
Now in its fifth year, Bartell's pharmacists will administer flu shots at businesses, with discounts available for groups of more 50 employees.
