Baseball, Softball Gloves Sold At Walmart and Target Recalled for Mold

Gloves sold at Walmart and Target were recalled by the US Consumer Protection and Safety Commission for mold.

Approximately 131,000 baseball and softball gloves are being recalled after a variety of molds were found on them.

About 131,000 baseball and softball gloves manufactured by Mizuno USA Inc of Norcross, Georgia are recalled, announced the U.S. Consumer Protection and Safety Commission(CPSC) in a July 6 advisory. The molds could “cause respiratory or other infections in individuals with chronic health problems, or in individuals who have impaired immune systems” said the department.

The gloves were sold at Walmart and  stores nationwide from April 2010 through May for between $24 and $60 and are all made in Vietnam.

The department urges consumers should stop using the gloves immediately and contact Mizuno USA to receive a refund. For additional information, contact Mizuno USA Inc. at (800) 451-7913 between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
