Free Coffee at Starbucks on July 4

CEO Howard Schultz issued a statement calling for political unity and offering a free tall brewed coffee on Wednesday.

Starbucks is giving away tall brewed coffees today after CEO Howard Schultz wrote an "open letter to America".

"In 2012, America needs to win the election more than either party does," Schultz said. "It is time now to join together as Americans. It is time, whatever our differences, for us to strive and succeed as one nation—indivisible."

Schultz said the coffee giveaway is intended to "spark the conversation in our stores."
