Frugal Family: IHOP Serves Free Short Stacks in Honor of National Pancake Day, March 1

Pancakes aren't just for weekend brunch.
In honor of National Pancake Day, the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) will serve up one free, piping hot short stack of buttermilk pancakes to to every customer on Tuesday, March 1 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
IHOP adopted this centuries-old tradition — also known as Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras — in 2006 as a fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Over the last five years, IHOP's National Pancake Day celebration has raised more that $5.35 million for local charities.
Take the family out for free pancakes and contribute to a good cause on March 1. The nearest IHOP is located in Tacoma at 1802 S. Mildred St., 253-566-1777.
