  • Why Go: Whether you are a film maker, or just a film enthusiast, this is . The three-day event will feature all the independent, foreign, documentary, full feature, animated and short films you can handle. Check out the event's film guide to help figure out which films you want to see.

Closing Weekend for Exhibits at Harbor History Museum

  • Why Go: This weekend is your last chance to see two different exhibits at the Harbor History Museum. We've heard nothing but great things about both Woven Stories: Native American Basketry of the Pacific Northwest and Intertwined: Requiem for the Trees, come view these amazing exhibits before they're gone!
  • Cost: Tickets range between $4 for youths and $6 for adults.

 

  • Where/When: 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at .
  • Why Go: Come out to Gig Harbor’s waterfront Skansie Brothers Park for a fun, free, family event with . She will talk about her experience and soccer background, sign autographs and then kick the ball around with the kids until 3 p.m. At 3 p.m. Stephanie will be recognized by the City of Gig Harbor and Mayor Chuck Hunter. Kids should bring a soccer ball, shirt or other item for an autograph.
  • Cost: This event is free and open to the public.

 

  • Where/When: 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at .
  • Why Go: Join together with your community, neighbors and friends to support Gig Harbor's first half marathon. Show your support to those who protect our country by racing for a soldier this Sunday morning.
  • Cost: Registration fees vary, visit the event's website to register.

 

  • Where/When: 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at Peace of the Earth Farm in Gig Harbor
  • Why Go: Can't get enough garlic? Join the Peace of the Earth Farm this Sunday for their Garlic Workshop. The workshop will teach you everything you need to know about growing garlic in the Pacific Northwest including hands on experience preparing garlic for planting. This workshop will also include one pound of locally grown, certified organic seed garlic.
  • Cost: $20 per student.
