After more than three decades of feeding diners in Gig Harbor and the South Puget Sound area, chef and owner of , Wilgar Louie, is hanging up his apron.
He and his wife, Wanda, recently announced that they'll be closing the restaurant on Oct. 30.
Louie, who's now in his 60s, said he's ready to step away from the demanding restaurant business.
"It was very good experience. We enjoyed the community," he said. "But I need some time to take a break and spend more time with my family."
The Chinese restaurant originally opened in 1979 in Tacoma and moved to the Pt. Fosdick location in 1993.
"We're going to miss the whole community. We appreciate the support over the years," Louie said.
Details are still being worked out as to who may take up the space when the restaurant closes.
