Letter to the Editor: One Year Ago...

The owners of Gig Harbor's Il Lucano Ristorante reflect on the one year anniversary of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that shook Japan to the ground. The Italian restaurant raised about $7,800 in donations at its fundraiser dinner last year.

On March 11, 2011, Japan was hit with an 8.9 magnitude earthquake with . 

To assist with their enormous recovery effort, many across the world did what they could to help.  

As part of this effort, our restaurant sponsored an evening dinner exclusively donating time and funds raised to the Red Cross relief in Japan.
