Morrison House Sotheby’s International Realty to Join Downtown Gig Harbor

Morrison House Sotheby’s International Realty announced on Thursday that it will be opening its flagship office and showroom in the historic waterfront district of Gig Harbor this spring.

The new office will be located in the former Simply Charmed and Adagio Aesthetics location at 3004 Harborview Dr., across from the Tides Tavern, Maritime Pier and Threshold Group.

According to Michael Morrison of Morrison House, his family has a rich family history in the real estate industry and is excited to open their latest space in the same type of location that the family started in 1971. 

“The demographics for Gig Harbor and synergy of the area businesses are what drew our business to Gig Harbor,” said Morrison. “Gig Harbor has been a welcoming city for our brand and it was fitting that we were in a location where clients could have easy access and exposure along Harborview Drive.”

Although the company works all parts of the residential real estate market, the brand is known for luxury real estate in the Pierce County areas of Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Tacoma and University Place. The firm has also come to broker some of the most expensive homes in Canterwood and fresh water and saltwater properties of the area.

In 2012, the Sotheby’s International Realty brand grew by more than 9 percent, and now has approximately 660 offices and 12,800 sales associates located in 47 countries and territories worldwide. It also saw a 30 percent year-over-year increase in the U.S. closed transaction sides.

The Gig Harbor location is expected to open in May.
