New CrossFit Gym Opens in Downtown Gig Harbor

Waypoint CrossFit offers classes for kids starting at age 3, all the way to adult seniors.

Gig Harbor Police officer Darius Aldridge and his wife Regina have opened a new CrossFit gym, Waypoint CrossFit, located off of Stinson Avenue in downtown Gig Harbor.

While the business is not entirely new--they were running CrossFit classes out of their garage for adults and teens since July of last year--the move means big things for the couple.

“The bigger space will give us the ability to attract and serve more members”, said Regina Aldridge, a retired Marketing Executive.

In the past, their 500-square-foot garage limited class sizes and the amount of equipment they could have on hand. Now, with the bigger space, they are ready to serve a bigger client base.

Waypoint CrossFit is located in the former Play-a-Latte location at 7402 Myers Ln. Its hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

EVENT: Waypoint CrossFit will be hosting a grand opening celebration on Friday, Jan. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Passionate about helping families stay fit; their gym offers classes for kids starting at age 3, all the way to adult seniors. Waypoint CrossFit is the first CrossFit gym in the area to be both a CrossFit and CrossFit Kids affiliate and focus on crossfit for all ages.

“You don’t have to come in being in shape, every workout is scalable. Part of the fun of CrossFit is that you get to do the same workouts your neighbor is doing, even though you are on different strength and skill levels,” said Darius Aldridge.

The same is true for adults as it is for kids. Kids of all levels are welcome and encouraged. Darius and Regina hope to foster a fun, competitive environment where everyone feels welcome and supported.
