New Goodwill Opening Thursday

Located in the Olympic Village Shopping Center, the thrift store will boast a unique design and host a weekend sale.

The grand opening of Gig Harbor's new Goodwill is slated for Thursday, June 23. Its debut will include a ceremony at the new store, 5500 Olympic Drive NW, in the at 8:45 a.m. 

Goodwill spokesperson Matthew Erlich said the interior of the new building will have a unique design, unlike the other 26 Goodwill locations.

“With a mezzanine level and new Fashions Department, we want people to enjoy shopping here,” said Goodwill President and CEO  Terry A. Hayes.

The store's grand opening will be packed with a sale from June 23 to 26 with chances for shoppers to win $50 gas cards, $100 gift cards and an iPod. Erlich said Goodwill will also be selling electric guitars and karaoke system while supplies last. Local radio stations will also be joining the festivities from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Warm 106.9 FM on Thursday and Star 101.5 FM on Friday).

“We’re grateful for the community’s support of Goodwill, and our mission to help people go to work," Hayes said.

The store hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

The store will accept donations of gently used clothes and household items. You can also drop off items at the attended Donation Stations at the corner of Rosedale Street and Stinson Avenue and at the Key Peninsula Market in Wauna.

The Goodwill on Point Fosdick Drive will be open to shoppers until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22. Please call 253-858-0169 for more information.
