Fall Harvest Farm Tour: Pierce County HarvestFest (various locations)

Why here: Take this comprehensive farm tour right here in Pierce County for the finest pumpkin patches around. Bonus: challenge yourself (and the kiddos) to some corn mazes, check out the beautiful fall bounty of fresh produce, try some farm fun activities, and more. When: Saturday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Scholz Farm (Orting)

Why here: This beautiful farm explodes with pumpkin goodness (add in some corn mazes, cool gourds, and other fall treats, to boot). The farms kicks off the fall season harvest October 1st. Check out the link to get farm hours and more information.

Thomasson Family Farm (Enumclaw)

Why here: The farm slogan is "We Grow Fun!" We think that's about right! Pumpkins abound on this farm, so you can find your favorite with ease. There are lots of special Halloween related activities and other farm activities that are fun for the whole family. See the link above for all the details.

Northwest Glass Pumpkin Patch (Tacoma)

Why here: Now who says pumpkins HAVE to be of the real, edible variety? How about some gorgeous handblown glass pumpkins to enhance your fall decor and home? The Northwest Glass Pumpkin Patch comes to Tacoma's Point Defiance Park. Check out the link above to see some of the glass works featured.

When: Saturday, Oct. 15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pagoda in Point Defiance Park

(Gig Harbor)

Why here: The Patterson's Market on 38th Avenue NW and 56th Street NW in Gig Harbor will kick off its annual pumpkin farm. Bring your entire family (and a camera) to pick out some pumpkins for the season. 

When: kicks off Saturday, Oct. 1

(Gig Harbor), (University Place), Metropolitan Market (Tacoma)

Why here: No time for a pumpkin patch? No problem. Pick one up at your local market. Trader Joe's and Metropolitan Market sell particularly cool pumpkins and pumpkin varieties. They are many shapes, sizes, textures, and colors (see picture below--all of those pumpkin's were purchased from Trader Joe's).
