Why Go: Mother’s Day is this Sunday. Have you gotten a gift for your mom? Visit the library booth at the Livable Community Fair this Saturday and make free Mother’s Day craft.

Where/When: on Saturday, May 12, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why Go: Gig Harbor is hosting its first-ever Beer Festival this Saturday. This new beer-lovers festival, sponsored by , will feature , including Gig Harbor's own . Proceeds will benefit the .

Cost: Advanced tickets $20; Day of the event for $25 (Must be 21 years and older to attend.)

 

Where/When:  on Saturday, May 12, at 6 p.m. (Use the atrium entrance at the back side of the building, just to the left of the school entrance.)

Why Go: Enjoy a lovely evening including a gourmet and kid-friendly dinner, live entertainment and auction, and a wide assortment of appetizers, dessert and wine. This is a family event, so feel free to bring your children.

Cost: $15 per adult and $2 per child. Tickets are available at the door. First come, first served.

 

Where/When: on Saturday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Time to clean out those closets, drawers, garages....or finish those crafts and go check out the first Roadrunner Rummage sale. The proceeds for renting the spots for the rummage sale will help the VPO provide necessary replacement items that are needed for the school in case there is an emergency. With Mother’s Day coming up, it’s a perfect day to shop for your mom.

Cost:  Free to browse.

 

Where/When: on Sunday, May 13, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Take your mom to a handbell concert on Mother's Day. It will feature the Chapel Ringers Handbell group from Chapel Hill Church playing contemporary to classical pieces written for handbells. There will also be harpists from PLU as the special guest artists. The Chapel Ringers have played with the Tacoma Symphony, Northwest Repertory Singers, South Sound String Ensemble and many more groups in the community. Enjoy a concert followed by strawberry shortcake.
