Turi Abbott Named Gig Harbor Midday Rotary Student of the Month for October!

GIG HARBOR, WA (October 2013):  Gig Harbor Midday Rotary has named Turi Abbott as its Student of the Month for October.   Abbott is a 3.9 gpa Senior at Gig Harbor High School.  She competes as a varsity level member of the Debate Team, plays the violin for Orchestra, serves as Secretary of Interact (the high school affiliate of Rotary), and has been a member of the theater stage crews.  Having recently returned from a year abroad in Thailand as a Rotary Exchange Student, Abbott lived and learned a culture very different from her own.  One lasting impression was the number of stray cats and dogs, so she now volunteers at the local Humane Society.

Turi Abbott and her family attended the Gig Harbor Midday Rotary luncheon to recognize her success, and to receive a Certificate of Achievement.
