Gig Harbor Woman Pleads Guilty to Plotting Husband’s Death
Gig Harbor resident Karen Lofgran plead guilty in to attempting to hire a hit man to kill her husband in Pierce County court on Friday.
A Gig Harbor woman who attempted to hire a hit man to kill her husband was convicted of a single count of conspiracy to solicit second-degree murder, according to The Tacoma News Tribune.
Karen Lofgran, 48, pled guilty to asking an ex-con to kill her husband for money. The man told his probation officer and an undercover detective posed as the man and accepting a pair of diamond earrings as a down payment for the hit, according to court documents. She gave him information about her husband’s routine and whereabouts, plus a photo.
Lofgran and her husband were in the middle of a divorce and her husband was covered by a $1 million life insurance policy.

The Gig Harbor woman will face sentencing on Jan. 25. She is currently free on $1 million bail.
