January Student of the Month: Joe Lausten

Joe Lausten, a senior at Gig Harbor High School, is an officer of the Gig Harbor High School Interact Club and has participated in TideFest, Harbor Hounds and the Basket Brigade.

Gig Harbor’s Midday Rotary Club has named Joe Lausten as its January 2013 Student of the Month.

A senior at Gig Harbor High School, Lausten maintains a 3.8 GPA. He is an officer of the Gig Harbor High School Interact Club and has participated in TideFest, Harbor Hounds, Polio Car Wash, Etta bracelet fundraiser and the Basket Brigade.

Lausten is also a Washington Aerospace Scholar and tutors freshmen for his senior project. Outside of the classroom, Lausten demonstrates leadership and athleticism by playing goalkeeper for Gig Harbor Varsity Soccer and WestSound F.C. in Silverdale.

Lausten and his parents have been invited to a Rotary-hosted luncheon to recognize his success and to present him with a certificate of achievement.
