Memorial Day: What's Closed, What's Open

While most governments and services will be closed, find out which services and ceremonies will be available throughout the community.

Memorial Day is Monday, and the three-day weekend means plenty of places will be closed.

It also means there will be ceremonies and celebrations throughout the community.

Here is a list of things you need to know:

Closures
  • Government offices, including all federal, state, Pierce County and the . The Gig Harbor City Council will meet on Tuesday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m.

Open
  • Recycling and Garbage Service: Normal pick up schedule. (office closed.)
  • Pierce Transit: Local bus and shuttle service will operate on Sunday schedule. (Offices closed; no phone service.)

  • Most stores and restaurants will be open as normal.
