New Year's Day 2013: What's Closed, What's Open

Happy 2013! Here is a list of what’s open and what's closed in and around Gig Harbor.

Here's a roundup of holiday schedules:

Government: All City of Gig Harbor administrative offices are closed. So are federal, state and Pierce County offices and courts.

Mail service: The U.S. Postal ServiceUPS and Federal Express are closed Tuesday. 

Pierce County Library System: All facilities, including those in Gig Harbor and Key Center, are closed Tuesday.

Pierce Transit: Operating on Sunday schedules on Tuesday, resuming regular weekday service on Wednesday. Administrative offices are closed on Tuesday.

Banks: Closed Tuesday.

Costco will be closed on Tuesday.

Schools: All Peninsula School District schools and Tacoma Community College are closed.

Garbage and Recycling: All residential and some commercial pickups will be moved back one day.

Gig Harbor Family YMCA: Open 4:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. Open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
