Plenty of Sun Expected This Mother's Day Weekend

Forecasters are predicting temperatures to reach almost 80 degrees this Mother's Day weekend.

If you're buying a sweater or blanket for you mother this Mother's Day, expect your gift to stay in the dresser drawer for a while.

The National Weather Service is predicting some great weather for Gig Harbor and the rest of the Puget Sound this weekend, with temperatures expected to creep into the high 70s.

If so, be nice to you mom. Buy her a nice glass of iced tea and lemonade and bask in the Vitamin D.

Here's the full forecast:

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 41. North northeast wind between 6 and 9 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 75. Northeast wind between 3 and 5 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Calm wind becoming north northeast between 4 and 7 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 79. North northeast wind around 6 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46. North northeast wind around 8 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 77.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.

I have seen orange flags (like the kind you use on the boat with a water skier) used at crosswalksRead More in Redmond. Perhaps putting a PVC pipe in the ground on either side of the road or attached to the nearby sign posts with a few flags inside for you to hold out/carry to the other side when you're crossing would be helpful?
