SHARE: Show Off Your Favorite Holiday Decorations

We're looking for photos of the most unique, quirky, or memorable trinkets that you hang on your tree and around the house for the holidays.

Holiday decorations do more than glitter and sparkle — they give a hint about the personality of their owners.

Whether it's a trinket showing loyalty to a favorite hobby, sports team or even cartoon character, ornaments run the full range of sizes, shapes and colors.

And when it comes time to deck out the tree, it's the ornament that gets the best spot — the perfect place for the ornament to function as a conversation starter.

Other folks prefer original, handmade decorations — especially if they were created by the kids when they were younger.

Whatever the style, one thing's for sure: Favorite decorations are unique.

Here's your chance to share photos [or video] of the most unique decoration you keep on your tree.

If you also put lights outside your house, make sure to submit a photo for Patch's annual Deck the House Contest.

Patch will select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner. Patch will pay up to $500 of the utility bill for each finalist, while our national winner will have $100,000 donated to his or her local school district.

Post your photos and video by clicking the Upload button above.

Ugh. That's not good, Starla. How many times a week do you and husband cross, or at least try toRead More cross that crosswalk.

I have seen orange flags (like the kind you use on the boat with a water skier) used at crosswalksRead More in Redmond. Perhaps putting a PVC pipe in the ground on either side of the road or attached to the nearby sign posts with a few flags inside for you to hold out/carry to the other side when you're crossing would be helpful?

Brent, we cross it about at least once a week.
