Two Major Outages Reported in Gig Harbor Wednesday

The Peninsula Light Company crews have restored power in the Hunt Street neighborhood, but residents near Artondale are still without power.

Peninsula Light Company responded to two major power outages in Gig Harbor Wednesday morning around 6 a.m.

Residents near Hunt Street lost power due to some fallen tree branches. As of 8 a.m., crews have restored power in the area, according to the Peninsula Light’s Twitter page.

The utility company also received a report of an outage near Lake Sylvia, Raft Island and Kopachuck.

As of 8 a.m., crews are still working on replacing a broken utility pole near Ray Nash and Artondale Drive. No estimated time for restoration.

Power at Voyager Elementary and Kopachuck Middle schools was restored at 8 a.m. so classes are running on regular schedules today. However, student get out of classes early today due to the Legislative reduction in funding.

There is no school for Harbor Montessori students, according to its Facebook page.
