Weekend Forecast for Gig Harbor

Thunder and showers are expected through this morning in the Gig Harbor and greater Pierce County area, with mild temperatures through the weekend.

Last night, Pierce County sent out an advisory of thunder and severe lightning, with hail and heavy rainstorms.

The pattern seems to continue this morning with gray skies and thunderstorms before 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. This afternoon will be partly sunny, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. For tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Here's the rest of the weekend forecast:

Saturday: Areas of drizzle before 11 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 70. West southwest wind 3 to 8 mph.

Saturday night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 53. West southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. West southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.
