Morning Meditation with Pastor Janet Tuesdays at 9:00 am, beginning January 15th 2013
How do we deepen our prayer channels? Meditation is a practice common to most spiritual traditions including Christianity. One can read about Christian meditation and prayer in books like The Cloud of Unknowing, The Way of the Pilgrim, The Seeds of Contemplation to name a few. Yet it is one thing to read about meditation and another to have a meditation practice.
During Winter Feast for the Soul, followed by Lent, Pastor Janet will lead us in a twelve week meditation series that will guide us in noticing our thoughts, focusing our awareness and quieting our minds as we practice. We will meet weekly Tuesday mornings at 9AM. Every two weeks we will learn a new meditation to practice together and at home. Each meditation builds upon one another so that by the end of 12 weeks we will have a deeper practice and enhanced ability to quiet and focus our minds.
