This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in hands on restoration work on a true piece of history. Volunteers are needed to help restore the mast to the musuem's own Thunderbird Hull #1.
Master shipwright Steve Helgeson will lead the restoration techniques. Work will include removing all hardware, stripping old varnish, assessing structure for necessary repairs, and performing needed repairs. Once restored, the mast will return to the museum and take its place alongside Hull #1.
