Maritime Pier Legacy Sculpture Project

"The Big Catch" Sculpture for the new Maritime Pier on Gig Harbor's Waterfront

 

Dr. Haven Doane, Board Member, Greater Gig Harbor Foundation also serves on the Legacy Sculpture Project Committee and let’s have him tell us why he is involved in helping to bring this project to fruition.

 “The Legacy project, honoring the history of the Fishing Industry in Gig Harbor from its founding to the present time, is one of those projects.

 “A 6 foot 6 inch bronze statue will be installed at the new maritime pier in downtown Gig Harbor.

 “At one time in its’ history Gig Harbor was home to the largest fleet on the West Coast fishing in the waters from here to Alaska.

“The Greater Gig Harbor Foundation is offering use of its non-profit 501c3 status allowing donors to “The Big Catch” legacy project to receive a tax deduction.  Checks may be made out to the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation and mailed to 6625 Wagner Way N.W., Suite 150, Gig Harbor, WA 98335.  Please write Legacy Project on the bottom line of your check.
