Say "Hello" to Gigster

Harbor Hounds has been a stable in Gig Harbor for 11 years now.  It is a fun way we have to celebrate our love for our dogs with other dog lovers throughout the community and to donate a little bit to local and international charities and non-profit organizations while doing so.

The Harbor Hounds logo, created way back then, is a fun and creative logo that, if you noticed, actually spells out “Harbor Hound”.  The nautical flags spell out the word “Harbor” and the Hound follows.  Creative, uh?

But, for eleven years that poor hound has been nameless!  Not anymore.

Through our Harbor Hounds facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Harbor-Hounds/208308170109) we have been running a “Name the Mascot” poll to finally give our hound a moniker.

We first opened the poll for anyone to nominate and vote on a name of their choice.  The top 5 names, receiving the most votes were then re-voted on for a winner.

And, the winner is …

GIGSTER!

So, say hello to Gigster, the Harbor Hound.

This year’s Harbor Hounds Charity Dog Walk will be held on Saturday, September 14 – rain or shine.

We still have plenty of room for sponsors who want to get a spot to put up a booth at one of our end-points, Skansie Park/Eddon Boat Launch, where people gather, mingle and visit sponsor booths of pet supplies, local vendors and other organizations wanting to meet the public.

For more information about Harbor Hounds, please visit www.harborhounds.com

If you are interested in being a sponsor, please click on the “Sponsor” link on the home page for more information.

Thank you to all of you who already visit our facebook page and who helped us name our hound.  Gigster is happy to finally have an identity and I think that name fits him/her just fine.

See you and your hound(s) in September!

PS.  I've posted some pictures from past Harbor Hounds for you to enjoy.
